Rachel N. Hartong, is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner at Twin Oaks Dermatology and Eye Surgery. She is a local graduate of Dalton High School where she excelled in academics. Rachel earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Walsh University. Upon graduating, Rachel spent 10 years as a Registered Nurse working primarily in the Medical-Surgical setting at several hospitals, including Virginia Hospital Center, Akron City Hospital and Wooster Community Hospital.
She also served as an adjunct clinical instructor for the Walsh University Byers School of Nursing. Rachel pursued her Master of Science in Nursing degree also through Walsh University, graduating at the top of her class. Because of her scholarly achievements, outstanding leadership, and commitment to excellence in nursing, Rachel was an inductee in the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Since graduating, Rachel has been privileged to train and mentor under Dr. Shane Clark. She is passionate about providing excellent care to her patients and meeting their skin care needs. She diagnoses and treats both acute and chronic skin conditions and provides skin cancer screenings.
Rachel’s caring nature extends beyond the workplace to spending time with her husband and five children. She also enjoys coaching softball, staying physically active, and family vacations.
