Andrea (Francis) Knapke grew up in the small town of Russia, Ohio. She attended the University of Toledo where she obtained a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science. Andrea then went on to obtain an additional Bachelor’s in Health Sciences and a Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, MA. She graduated at the top of her class, Summa Cum Laude. Andrea completed her clinical rotations at some of the most respected teaching institutions in the Boston area including Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s and Tufts. She also spent 3 months in rural Maine as a student General Practitioner dedicating her time to serving the under served communities.
After graduation Andrea spent 8 years working in Surgery with a focus on Cardiovascular and Thoracic, Trauma and Emergency General Surgery. After having children, Andrea then accepted a Clinical Faculty position at the University of Dayton teaching Physician Assistant students. Andrea left her faculty position, with the title of Director of Didactic Education to support her husband’s career that took them overseas to live in Hong Kong.
Upon her relocation back to the United States Andrea was eager to resume her medical practice and joined Wheatland Dermatology in May of 2020. She has a passion for Dermatology and has been an enthusiastic new team member. She sees patients for general dermatological complaints as well as patients interested in Cosmetic Dermatology procedures including Botox, facial fillers, micro-needling and laser hair removal.
